AFFENPINSCHER BREED NOTES - 25th April 2008
Bert Easdon had an entry of 9 dogs with 2 absentees at Liver Canine Society’s Open Show on April 13th. Bert awarded BOB to my Pennington Prince Michael bred by my Mum (Ch Downsbank Tattie Bogle with Marchog x Pennington Periwinkle) and BP went to Yvonne and Ron Billows’ homebred Robil Federico Bonnelli (Wildax Denzel Washington at Robil x Ingerdorm Inciewincie at Robil).
Carole Mumby’s Carmichan Jazz Meena bred by Jane Waterfield (Ch Carmichan Jazzy Jet JW x Carmichan Jorga) won the Toy Puppy Group at Stratford upon Avon Open Show. The breed and group judge was Jean Wallhead and it was Jazz Meena’s last show as a puppy, so a nice finish to her puppy career.
The BDS Club of Ireland is holding a Group 1 and a Group 2 Championship Show on Saturday 24th May at the Irish Kennel Club grounds at the National Show Centre in Cloghran, Dublin. The Affenpinscher judge is Joel Vanlerbergh from Belgium. On a sad note I report another death – Janet Wiginton’s husband, Jim, died suddenly last weekend. He and Janet were out walking their dogs in woods in Brittany where they live when he felt unwell and collapsed. They were not near any help but Janet got back to the car and drove to a cottage to call an ambulance. Sadly, they were unable to revive him. Our deepest sympathy and thoughts go to Janet and the family at this sad time.
