Our Dogs 20th June 2008 Peter Jolley awarded CCs for the first time at Three Counties and had an entry of 47 dogs making 49 entries. The BCC and BOB went to Toni Teasdale’s homebred Tonsarne Idle Gossip (Tonsarne Red Hot Patootie x Ch Tonsarne Tittle Tattle). This was Gossip’s 3rd CC so congratulations to Toni on the crowning of a new champion. The DCC was a second for Julie McEvoy and Josie Harvey’s Kilbarchan’s Master Copy JW (Ch Carmichan Jazzy Jet JW x Ch Kilbarchan’s Final Copy) who is bred by Helen Moffat. Master Copy won his first CC at Southern Counties, a few weeks previously, under Carole Mumby. The RBCC went to Mhairi Brown and Andrew Oliver’s Am Ch Black Forest Tajar Narnia at Orlock (Am Ch Black Forest Cookie Monster x Am Ch Tajor Sweet Angel) bred by Bouldin and Gresser and the RDCC went to Carol Carlyle’s homebred Little Tommy Tucker (Ch Ingerdorm Pickpocket x Induna Anna). BP went to Jessica Gruninger’s homebred Darkle Mirrikyn (Ch Darkle Devil May Care x Darkle Minnikyn) who has won four BP awards this year. I noticed on the Internet that Jeni Wiggins’ Ch Kilbarchan’s Xtra Copy for Scapafield JW Sh CM, bred by Helen Moffatt, won 3rd place in the Pedigree Champion Stakes under Bert Easdon out of an entry of 40. Xtra Copy is the litter brother to the DCC winner. I was in the bad books back home because I had forgotten to enter Matthew and he was at the show with no pass and my Mum who was not best pleased! I shall be taking extra care with all future entries. The June edition of the Kennel Gazette announced two new judges for 2009 – Mrs Siv Jernhake (Sweden) is judging WELKS in April and Stuart Band is judging Midland Counties in October. Lesley Tomlinson is our judge for Crufts in 2009 and Jimmy Simpson in 2010. Well done to Anthony Oakden and Attila Triffic Trevor on winning Best AVNSC Toy and Group 3 on Sunday 2nd June at Melton Mowbray and District Canine Society’s Open Show under Mrs J Langhorn (Yorlang Yorkshire Terriers and Maltese). Trevor is bred by Dee and Chris Hayes and is by Ch Darkle Devil May Care out of Attila the Faithful. A reminder that any contributions, adverts or articles for the next issue of Monkey Business need to be with the editor, Dee Hayes, by 28th June (Windsor) at the latest. Due to holidays the deadline is unlikely to be flexible unless by prior arrangement with Dee who can be contacted by e-mail on dee@attila.org.uk or by phone on 01279 850765. If you get your advert in early, any wins can be added to after the closing date, so please don’t let that put you off sending them in early and lets make our hard working editor’s life a bit easier! Advertising rates are £12 for a full page, £7 for half a page and £5 for a quarter page. Printable quality photographs are included in the price. Andrew Stewart is judging SKC on 24th August without CCs. Postal entries close on 7th July (postmark) and online entries can be made up until 14th July via www.scottishkennelclub.org Sophie Todhunter |
