AFFENPINSCHER BREED NOTES - 30th May 2008

I was judging the breed at The National and had an entry of 48 Affenpinschers making 53 entries less 4 absentees all from the dog classes. The Dog CC winner, winning his 4th CC, was also Best of Breed – Jeni Wiggins’ Ch. Kilbarchan’s Xtra Copy for Scapafield JW Sh.CM. Bred by Helen Moffat, he is a son of Ch. Carmichan Jazzy Jet JW ex Ch. Kilbarchan’s Final Copy. Suzanne Pirrie’s homebred Ch. Riogaioch Illusion JW won the Bitch CC. She is by Ch. Cransbere Kindamagic at Bodebi ex Ch. Riogaioch Festival. The Reserves went to Sarah McGill’s Ch./Am. Ch. Uncle Urkle at Cransbere JW and Carole Mumby’s Kilbarchan’s Exclusive Copy for Carmichan JW Sh.CM. Uncle Urkle was bred by Michelle Conniff and sired by Ch. Avantgarde Prince Rupert of Cransbere ex Suphelli Moonshine Minx and Exclusive Copy is litter sister to the Dog CC winner.

Best Puppy was Lynn Tyson’s Kilbarchan’s Only Copy – a dog bred by Helen Moffat and another sired by Jazzy Jet ex Kilbarchan’s Late Copy. The National is one of the few Ch. shows that still have Puppy Groups and I was delighted to see Lynn placed 2nd in the group under judge David Guy.
