AFFENPINSCHER BREED NOTES - 20th June 2008

Peter Jolley awarded CCs in the breed for the first time at Three Counties and he had 47 Affenpinschers making 49 entries with 10 absentees most of whom were from the bitch classes. Best of Breed and the Bitch CC went to my own Tonsarne Idle Gossip who is now a Champion subject to Kennel Club confirmation, of course. Gossip is homebred by Tonsarne Red Hot Patootie ex Ch.Tonsarne Tittle-Tattle. Mhairi Brown gave her the first CC at LKA last December and Ann Arch her second at UK Toydog this year. The Dog CC was a second for Josie Harvey and Julie McEvoy’s Kilbarchan’s Master Copy JW, bred by Helen Moffatt and sired by Ch. Carmichan Jazzy Jet JW ex Ch. Kilbarchan’s Final Copy. Both CC winners came from the Limit class and the Reserves from Open. Carol Carlyle’s homebred Induna Little Tommy Tucker and Andrew Oliver and Mhairi Brown’s imported Am. Ch. Black Forest Tajar Narnia at Orlock winning the Reserve Dog and Bitch CC respectively. Tommy Tucker is sired by Ch. Ingerdorm Pickpocket JW ex Induna Anna and Tajar Narnia is bred by Pat Bouldin and Barbara Gresser and is by Am. Ch. Black Forest Cookie Monster ex Am. Ch. Tajar Sweet Angel. It was another Best Puppy for Jessica Gruninger’s homebred bitch Darkle Mirrykin sired by Ch. Darkle Devil May Care ex Darkle’s Minnykin.

It was at Three Counties last year that Jeni Wiggins won her first CC with Ch. Kilbarchan’s Xtra Copy for Scapafield JW ShCM before slipping on the wet grass and badly injuring her leg that later was discovered to have been broken. This year ‘Jacob’ was placed third in the Champion Stakes under Bert Easdon and Jeni, fortunately, had no problems with the ground conditions.

The June edition of the Kennel Gazette lists two judges for Affenpinschers in 2009; Mrs. Siv Jernhake from Sweden at WELKS in April and Stuart Band at Midland Counties in October. Jimmy Simpson is the nominated judge for Crufts 2010, Lesley Tomlinson already having been announced for next year.
