AFFENPINSCHER BREED NOTES - 13th February 2008 Frank Kane had an excellent entry at the Affenpinscher Club Show and he found his Best in Show in Mhairi Brown and Andrew Oliver's homebred bitch Orlock Carpathia sired by Ch. Ingerdorm Drosselmeyer von Orlock ex Orlock Mirkalla Karnstein. Reserve Best in Show went to the Reserve Bitch, Carole Mumby's Kilbarchan's Exclusive Copy for Carmichan JW ShCM bred by Helen Moffatt and sired by Ch. Carmichan Jazzy Jet JW ex Ch. Kilbarchan's Final Copy. Best Dog was Carol Carlyle's homebred Induna Little Tommy Tucker sired by Ch. Ingerdorm Pickpocket ex Induna Anna. Mhairi and Andrew had a very good show also winning Best Puppy in Show with Riogaioch Voodoo at Orlock. She was bred by Suzanne Pirrie and is sired by Furstin Future Perfect at Tarcalion ex Riogaioch Bewitched. Wendy Boorer was delighted that her Ch. Furstin Opportune Moment was not only Best Veteran in Show but also the oldest veteran on the day. Jessica Gruninger handled her in the class and Anthony Oakden took over in the challenge. As usual Christine and Ken McFarlane had the catering well under control and provided an impressive buffet lunch and selection of refreshments to suit all tastes with the aid of their team of Jacky, Richard and Daniel Bennett and Jane. The raffle was excellent thanks to the support of members who donated items and bought tickets. Jenny and Sophie Todhunter had a variety of new Affenpinscher items for sale on the club stand and appeared to be doing good business on the day. It was encouraging to see several new Affenpinscher exhibitors in the puppy classes and some were among the winners who won a knitted poached egg on toast toy donated by Celine Desmond for the winners of the four classes. Thanks go to our efficient stewards Heather and Roger Chaston and to show manager Barry Canty for the smoothly run show. Thanks also to several members who helped with the setting up in the morning and clearing of the hall at the end of the day. Ann Gill was unable to get to the show as her husband was in hospital having had major surgery. John is now at home recovering and we wish him a speedy reovery. TONI TEASDALE
