The Affenpinscher Club Ch. Show on Sunday 5th October 2008 at Daventry Community Centre, Ashby Road, Daventry, Northants. NN11 5QE.
Judging starts at 10.00 a.m. Entry is 132 dogs making 155 entries (inc 23 NFC) - 48 dogs making 61 entries and 61 bitches making 71 entries.
Spectators are very welcome with homemade refreshments available all day at reasonable prices - donations of raffle prizes would be appreciated.

New Front page photo - Congratulations to club members, owner Nenne Runsten from Sweden and Breeder Sarah McGill, on the success of Nordic Junior Winner 2007, Nordic Winner 2007. Swedish Winner 2007 and Now World Winner 2008 and BOB Winterkloud Freya at the recent World Winners show in Stockholm.
In Scandinavia a dog has to be 24 months old before being awarded the qualifying CC for their champion titles, Frejya, in spite of her now 13 CC's and 5 CACIB's in Sweden, will not be able to win a qualifying CC until after September 29, when she celebrates her second birthday

The AGM was held yesterday. A brief summary includes that membership subscriptions were raised to £7 for a single membership, Joint membership is £8. The membership voted for Mr Chris Hayes to judge the Affenpinscher Club Open show in 2010 and Mrs Jackie Reader to judge the Affenpinscher Club Championship show in 2011. Chris was also admitted on to the Affenpinscher Club committee.
The Annual awards competition was held with Kilbarchan's Exclusive Copy for Carmichan Jw ShCM winning the Champflower Trophy and Annual Puppy Award. Judge was Mr Howard Ogden. Many congratulations to owner Carole Mumby and breeder Helen Moffat!

Congratulations to the Affenpinscher Club Stand winning 4th prize overall at Discover Dogs at Crufts - particular thanks to Beryl O'Donoghue who designed and decorated the stand and to all the helper and their dogs over the 4 days.

A brood progeny table has been added for females who have had registered 5 or more litters. If any female fulfilling this criteria has been omitted then please contact us so we can add her to the list. Many thanks to those who have helped with further dogs and information to include on the Stud Dog Progeny table

We have introduced a new part to the showing part of the site, calling it a breeding area although it remains to be seen if this the best name of it. It will include Breed Record Supplements (yearly registrations and other information), a stud dog progeny table of dogs who have had 7 or more litters registered. If required by the members a stud service area can be provided which would contain name of dog, breeding, owner details and number of previous litters. Get in touch if you are interested. The puppy list will also be moved to this area.
We have also added an archive of breed notes from both dog publications starting from this month.

New items added to the club shop part of the site. It seems that the whole range of DVD's have been a bit of a hit and we are currently waiting for a reorder on them but dont let that put you off if you are interested. Just contact Sophie or Jenni and they will forward the DVD when they become available.
Overseas member who are planning to come to Crufts please remember that if there is anything that you would like to buy from the shop Sophie and Jenni will be able to give them to you there. The club stall will be at Crufts by the affenpinscher ring for anybody who would like to see the full range of items available.

We have a new cover star for February - Baby Dilba at 6 weeks old - what a sweetie! The results of the club open show held yesterday at Daventry are now up. The Critique will be posted when available.

UK Toy Dog (2008) will be hosting KC obedience classes for TOY DOGS ONLY.
Many toy dog owners love to compete in obedience but are often put off by the big boisterous Collies, Shepherds, Gundogs etc. It will take place at the

The events page has been updated for 2008. This will be the last year that the club shows will be held at Daventry with the venue for shows moving in 2009 to Ashfordby, near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire. The 2007 news page has now been archived and a new page created for 2008. A few new items have been added to the shop area of the site too.so please do have a look. Yearly club subscriptions should be in by now, if you have forgotten then just print of the membership page from the site and send it off with suitable remittance to the Secretary. Anyone interested in linking to the site please let us know but remember to added £5 to your yearly subscription.
