Affenpinscher Club 19th Championship Show

16th October 2010

Judge – Tom Mather

I was genuinely very impressed with many of the lovely dogs exhibited.  Sound good moving exhibits were in the majority and temperaments were excellent.

MPD   1.  Darkle Daring And Brave.  Very smart and sturdy youngster, pleasing head with neat ears, compact and well ribbed with good tailset and carriage, moved well and looks most typical in profile.  I thought he was just a little more mature than the lovely bitch puppy and this just gave him the edge in the challenge.  BPIS.

PD     1.  Linsgift Hairgrid At Bolmacs.  Very pleasing head with dark, sparkling eye and good forehand, handles well on the table as he is short and compact with good rib.  Not quite the topline of Daring And Brave or his self-assurance as yet but this should come with practice.

SpJD 1.  Avantgarde Citizen Smith For Balata.  Just out of puppy and with all the self-assurance one hopes to find in the breed, lovely head with good ears and dark sparkling eyes, compact and well ribbed with good topline and tailset, very good profile action and goes well behind.

JD     1.  Darkle Dominion.  Very well balanced and quite masculine without being coarse, most appealing head with neat well carried ears, dark lively eyes and good breadth of under-jaw with some turn-up, absolutely typical in outline with a lovely strutting action and he is sound both coming and going, strong sturdy body, in good coat and condition, should easily finish at the top.  2.  Orlock After Dark At Brandubh.  Soundly made dog who moves accordingly, very good in profile with a lovely action, well bodied and has a good topline and tailset, smallish head and dark sparkling eyes.

YD     1.  Darkle Dominion.  2.  Pennington Mungo Jerry.  Has a lot of quality, good balance and pleasing head with decent under-jaw and neat ears, good showman who moves well and with some style.  Very sturdy, I just preferred the tail carriage of 1 on the move.

TD     1.  Darkle Dominion.  2.  Avantgarde Citizen Smith For Balata.  Smart and very typical in all respects, pleasing head and good bodly with adequate spring of rib and very moderate depth of chest.  Moved soundly but not quite the stylish action of 1 in profile.

GD     1.  Capricho Herzog Herman For Faehat.  Good for balance and type with a fairly small skull and shiny dark eyes, good body and ribs, well carried tail, moves soundly, harsh coat.  2.  Kilbarchan’s Only Copy.  Good moving dog.  Not quite the harsh coat of 1 or his dark eye and he was a shade over-presented for my taste.  Very sturdy with good body and well set and carried tail.

PGD   1.  Avantgarde Airborne Lad For Faehat.  Very attractive profile action and this just gave him the edge here, sturdy and well made with a pleasing head, neat ears and dark eyes, good body and type.  Did enough to win the class but could show with a little more animation to advantage.  2.  Woomera Wompi Woo.  Shade unsettled at first but when he pulls himself together presents an attractive picture.  Lovely head and expression, well bodied and sound and sturdy.

MLD  1.  Furstin Casanova At Tonsarne.  Beautifully balanced with a good head, neat ears and lovely clear sparkling eyes, strong sturdy body with good tailset and carriage, very good hind action from well-muscled hindquarters, shows to good advantage.  2.  Carmichan Brightest Star.  Another pleasing head and expression, absolutely typical in profile and good hind action, just a shade untidy in front.  Well bodied  with harsh typical coat.

LD     1.  Carmichan Chucamental For Balata.  Very confident and lively with a real air of self-importance, lovely profile action and strong hindquarters, pleasing head and expression with good under-jaw and some turn up, soundly made and pleasing to handle, good harsh coat.  2.  Tonsarne Turveydrop.  Pleases in head and expression, strong and sturdy with good rib, decent tailset and carriage.  Moved well, but not quite the self-possession of 1.

OD    1.  Ch. Kilbarchan’s Xtra Copy For Scapafield JW Sh.CM.  Beautifully balanced dog of obvious quality and type, lovely head and expression, moderate neck and depth of chest with strong sturdy body, moves well both up and down and is so typical in profile with his confident strutting action, shown and presented to best advantage.  CC & BIS.  2.  Orlock Angel With Blewgould.  Very smart and typical, moved really well, good head, smallish skull, neat ears and sparkling eyes, nicely ribbed with good tailset and carriage, confident and lively, harsh coat.  RCC.

Sp.OD 1.  Ch. Scapafield Schwarz Legacy JW.  Grand headed dog who is so typical in profile, harsh coat, well ribbed with good topline and tailset, moved soundly.  2.  Am. & Can. Ch. Hilanne’s Shoot For The Moon.  Just a shade longer in neck than 1.  Very pleasing head and expression with neat ears and lively dark inquisitive eyes, very good moving with a typical strutting action, harsh coat.

VD     1.  Ch. Darkle Dashing Blade To Pennington.  Well balanced dog with a lot of quality, lively and confident with a pleasing head and round, dark clear eye, well bodied with good topline and tailset, moves well.  BVIS.   2.  Ingerdorm Scooby At Chiaffie.  Pleases in head and expression, good body and sound and sturdy.  Not quite the lively self-possession of 1.

MPB   1.  Carmichan Schwarz Diva For Scapafield.  BPB.    2.  Carmichan Star Performer.  One of the best classes of the day which bodes well for the future.  Hard to separate these two lovely litter sisters, both appeal in head and expression with neat ears, some chin and good turn-up, they are sturdy and well bodied with good toplines, moderate tuck-up and well set tails, they move well and are most typical in profile.  I thought 1 was just a shade more compact and this just tipped the balance in her favour.  I would have happily taken either of them home.

PB      1.  Carmichan Star Performer.  2.  Avantgarde Blue Moon.  Well balanced and very good moving youngster, pretty head and expression and good body and tailset.  Not quite the self-confidence and lively air of 1 as yet.

SpJB  1.  Riogaioch Moneypenny.  Very smart and showy with a smallish skull, lovely sparkling eye and very neat ears, sturdy and well put together, moved very well and presents a good profile in action.  2.  Brandubh Gypsophila Of Hamlock.  Just a shade deeper in body than 1, pleasing head, sturdy and well ribbed, looks most attractive in profile and makes the most of herself at all times.

JB     1.  Scalene Saucy Sal.  Very pleasing to handle as she is sturdy and well made with a good head, dark eye and excellent mouth, good topline and tailset, strong well-muscled hindquarters, harsh coat.  2.  Avantgarde Blue Moon.

SpYB  1.  Pennington Muriel Agnes.  Very smart and confident with a lovely head and expression, good mouth and shiny black nose and eyes, adequate breadth of chest and compact well ribbed body, typical and sound on the move.  Scalene Saucy Sal.

TB     1.  Riogaioch Moneypenny.  2.  Orlock Suspiriorum.  3rd in the lovely MPB class and giving away a lot in age here, well balanced and very typy both in appearance and character as she is confident and lively, pleasing head and neat high set ears and sparkling eyes, moves soundly.

GB     1.  Riogaioch Moneypenny.  2.  Avantgarde Greta Garbo At Florindale.  Her compact outline and excellent profile action just pushed her ahead here, pleasing head and expression, harsh rough coat.

PGB    1.  Riogaioch For Your Eyes Only.  Very smart and shows to good advantage as she is lively and confident, excellent outline with good tailset and carriage and this just gave her the edge today, well bodied with a good spring of rib and moderate tuck-up, lovely head and expression, harsh coat.  2. Attila Daisy Delicious By Chiaffie.  Pleasing to handle as she is soundly made and has a good head with neat ears and dark sparkling eyes, moves well in typical fashion.

MLB   1.  Woomera Lily Of The Valley.  Good moving bitch with a nice head and lovely eyes, very gay and jaunty with good rib and pleasing topline and tailset.

LB     1.  Carmichan Jazzle Dazzle JW.  Very typical head and expression, good forehand and strong sturdy well ribbed body with good topline and tailset, really excels on the move with her proud strutting action and air of self-confidence.  2.  Avantgarde Lady Ga Ga.  Beautifully balanced and has a most attractive head and expression enhanced by dark sparkling eyes, well bodied and moves soundly in typical fashion.

OB     1.  Ch. Avantgarde Mistress Moonshine.  Super example of the breed both in demeanour and type, very good for balance and she is well put together with a good forehand, sturdy well ribbed body and very good hindquarters, lovely head with a keen lively expression, she must be a delight to live with.  CC & RBIS.  2.  Ch. Darkle Mirrikyn JW.  Fraction smaller than 1 but again she pleases for balance and type with her strong sturdy body and lovely head and expression, very good moving both up and down and in profile, harsh coat.

SpOB 1.  Ch. Riogaioch Illusion JW.  I have previously awarded her a CC and my opinion of her hasn’t changed, she is a lovely bitch, very sturdy and well balanced with a most pleasing head, neat ears and good turn-up, sturdy well ribbed body and good topline and tailset, absolutely sound on the move and impressive in profile.  RCC.  2.  Orlock Solar Eclipse.  Another soundly made, good moving bitch, very lively and confident with good body and rib, harsh coat, attractive head and expression.
