Affenpinscher Club 30th Open Show 5th October 2008 Judge – Christopher Hill My thanks go to the Affenpinscher Club for inviting me to judge their championship show, to the show manager Barry Canty for his quiet yet efficient running of the day and my stewards Roger and Heather Chaston for keeping the ring in order. Generally the quality of the dogs was good. I was looking for a sturdy, square balanced dog. You will notice from many of my comments that size is important to me and with size we do have a lot of variety. Tall leggy dogs were penalised along with the long backed short-legged dogs. My pet hate is dogs that carry their tails closely curled over their backs resembling a pig’s tail. PD 1. Crazydays Prints Willyum. 9 months, nice square puppy, nothing too exaggerated, good coat for age, moved really well, pleasing expression. BPIS. 2. Woomera Wompi Woo. SpJD 1. Kilbarchan’s Only Copy. Showed really well, nicely balanced, good size, moved ok. 2. Avantgarde Airborne Lad. Excelled in coat, nice size, not so good in front as 1 when standing, well handled. JD 1. Avantgarde Airborne Lad. 2. Tonsarne Little Black Book. Nice size, looked happy, liked his general outline and balance, went well. YD 1. Jarube Knight To Remember. Capricho Herzog Herman. Similar comments to 1 for size and balance, quite a showy dog. MLD 1. Attila Triffic Trevor. Showed really well, nice proportions and balance, with a very happy disposition, nice dog to go over, nothing too exaggerated. 2. Bodebi It’s a Tigger. Moved better than in previous class, a close decision. LD 1. Kilbarchan’s Rare Copy. Very showy, well up on size for me. Good front, moved true, nothing overdone. 2. Capricho Herzog Herman. OD What a difficult class, a lot of talent went card less, places could easily change, a different day a different result. 1. Ch. Kilbarchan’s Xtra Copy For Scapafield JW Sh.CM. Probably not a lot can be said about this dog that has not already been said, but here goes. Super size and proportions, very showy, nothing over exaggerated, oozes quality.
