Affenpinscher Club Open Show 10th February 2008 Judge: Frank Kane Critique It was a great pleasure to judge this splendid entry of 121 exhibits. They are such a personality plus breed with their wonderful expression and carriage. Hind action could have been better in some and tight tail carriage detracted from the typical Affenpinscher outline. Many thanks to my stewards -
I appreciated the sporting atmosphere throughout the day and I felt that the club is obviously energetic and with the good of the breed at heart. I appreciated too the excellent catering. My thanks for the commemorative Affenpinscher plate which now sits on the delft rack in my dining room giving me a very impertinent stare! PD 1. Winterkloud Hector, 9 months, appealed for his balance, shape and carriage, beautiful head and expression. Needs more rib and his hind action is disappointing but had the pull in balance and topline here. 2. Tonsarne Little Black Book, 7 months, better rear action than 1 but a little soft in topline at the moment, good head proportions. I’d prefer a slightly darker eye. Good coat. SpJD Two good young dogs. 1. Jarube Knight To Remember, 12 months, excellent movement and good topline, tail carriage a little tight, liked his quality and type a lot. 2. Pennington Prince Michael, loved his size and head. Not as firm in body as 1 and this showed in his topline. Excellent coat and a good mover, better tail carriage, will end up a super dog. YD 1. Attila See No Evil, full size dog, squarely built, good carriage, coat could be harsher, good rear action. Front can tighten. ND 1. Jarube Knight To Remember. 2. Robil Frederico Bonnelli, 8 months, excellent type and balance, lovely eyes and expression, can make up a little in rib and topline yet, sound moving. Just needs a little more confidence. TD 1. Jarube Knight To Remember. 2. Attila See No Evil. PGD 1. Bodebi It’s A Tigger, won on his carriage over 2, good head proportions. Would prefer a little more rib and shorter loin for perfect balance. Went soundly and typically. A little over trimmed. 2. Darkle Dishily Dishevelled, excellent type and balance with a lovely face, went soundly but without the spirit and carriage of 1. If he develops in confidence will end up a lovely dog. LD Good class for quality. 1. Induna Little Tommy Tucker, beautiful type, loved his head and eyes. Not yet fully mature in body, but he is cobby and with excellent topline, tailset and carriage. Great style on the move. He can firm up a little but brimful of type and quality. BD. 2. Kilbarchan’s Master Copy, liked him immensely, scored in finish and body over 1 and is a stylish, typical mover. Slightly preferred chin of 1, but I was splitting hairs here. RBD. OD Interesting class full of quality and different types. 1. Roxilyn Just So For Rosehayes, excellent type and a wonderful mover, great showman, in good coat and on top form. In the challenge I just preferred the compactness of the limit dogs. 2. Beaudiddley Lets Get Sirius, smaller type, sturdy and compact. A little wild in front movement. Excellent coat texture, excellent head proportions and lovely eyes. VD 1. Ch. Darkle Devil May Care, 10 years, great character, added to by his grey coat of excellent texture, cobby, compact. A touch wide in front now but wonderful type, temperament and character. MPB 1. Riogaioch Voodoo At Orlock, 8 months, stood out here, lovely type, sound and typical on the move, good coat texture, excellent head proportions, eye and chin. A touch tight in tail but coordinated and accurate on the move. BP. 2. Tonsarne Tisiphone Of Partijude, 6 months, full of spirit and mischief, raw and a little soft in topline but has type and quality. PB 1. Carmichan Jazz Meena, 11 months, beautiful type all through, excellent head, correct angulation. A little loose in front movement but good profile action and topline. Won all her classes, a little tired when it came to BP which was a pity. 2. Roughtrade Drag Queen, 9 months, cobby, typy puppy shown too fat which affected her balance and made her look short on the leg. She has a lot of type and will look better when she has lost her puppy fat. SpJB 1. Carmichan Jazz Meena. 2. Roxilyn Just Miss Behaving, 12 months, small, beautiful type and balance, very typical mover with great style. Not quite as square as 1 whose tailset I preferred but she scored in front action. Excellent coat texture. JB 1. Winterkloud Alula Borealis For Beaudiddley, cobby, excellently bodied bitch with good topline and tail carriage, excellent movement, good head proportions, dark eyes. 2. Roxilyn Just Miss Behaving. YB 1. Attila Urban Clash, bigger stamp of bitch but excellent substance, coat and head, good quarters, a touch wide in front, excellent head proportions and eye. 2. Induna She’s Chic At Clipperreach, smaller, finer bitch with excellent coat and eyes, rather overawed by the proceedings but she has type and quality. NB 1. Carmichan Jazz Meena. 2. Roxilyn Just Miss Behaving. PGB 1. Schon Madchen Of Tonsarne, beautiful type and size, cobby, ultra sound and typical on the move, liked her head proportions and eyes, carried herself well, made the last cut, should have a great future. 2. Carmichan Lucy Lastic At Scapafield, slightly rangier, good coat, ribbing and topline. A little loose in front. LB Excellent class for depth of quality. 1. Orlock Carpathia, lovely bitch all through, excellent size, cobby with wonderful coat texture, caught my eye immediately and did not disappoint on the table or on the move. BIS. 2. Kilbarchan’s Exclusive Copy For Carmichan, bigger but full of quality and going so typically, a really wonderful mover with perfect topline and tail carriage, in great form. See she is the litter sister to RBD so obviously the type appeals. RBIS. OB 1. Orlock Walachia, lovely size and an excellent mover, like her sister appealed enormously for type. 2. Ch. Roxilyn Just For Jo, took my eye immediately entering the ring, loved her balance and profile. A touch shorter in the neck than 1 but tail carriage a little tight and not quite in her best coat. VB Lovely class, a great advert for the soundness and temperament of the breed. 1. Ch. Furstin Opportune Moment, almost 11 years, remarkable, great style and soundness, wonderful mouth of clean teeth. Still full of attitude and typical and accurate on the move. BV. 2. Ch. Ingerdorm Peggety At Carmichan, almost 10 years, a lovely bitch of beautiful size, balance and movement. I had to be hard hearted to split these two remarkable veterans. BENNET BAGGS MEMORIAL STAKES. 1. Schon Madchen Of Tonsarne. 2. Dark Elegance Of Bishopmarston, compact and cobby, ears need to settle, good coat, stylish on the move. PROGENY D 1. Ch. Carmichan Jazzy Jet, with his progeny who had enjoyed a very successful day. BRACE 1. Brown & Oliver’s litter sisters who had won limit and open bitch classes. TEAM 1. Tonsarne, a very happy bunch of Affenpinschers. I can understand how anyone can become addicted to their personalities. FRANK KANE .
