Affenpinscher Club Open Show 11th February 2007 Judge – Anthony Oakden My thanks to the committee and the exhibitors for such a lovely day. Judging a club show of your own breed is an honour and today was a great pleasure to be surrounded by so many Affenpinschers and their owners. How encouraging for the committee and exhibitors to see several prospective judges around the ringside watching the breed on mass. A quantative and quality entry I had some lovely Affenpinschers on show today. There were variations in expressions, length of bodies, size and movement. A slow maturing toy breed, puppies and young dogs need plenty of time to fill their frames. PD Repeat of MPD. SpJD 1. Kit N Caboodle For Balata. Handsome young male and maturing very well. Liked his overall type in particular his expression with neat small ears high set and a well made compact square sturdy body. Moved soundly. 2. Darkle Dishily Dishevelled. Larger than 1 and needs to fill in his frame. Good broad brow and strong hindquarters. JD 1. Darkle Shabby Chic. Very well put together and in ideal show condition. Typical in shape. Movement a joy to watch especially his front action. The goose step! 2. Darkle Dishily Dishevelled. ND 1. Darkle Double Tongued. Beat 2 for his front movement. 2. Carmichan Kit N Caboodle For Balata 3. Kilbarchans Xtra Copy For Scapafield (NAF TAF). TD 1. Darkle Double Tongued 2. Carmichan Kit N Caboodle For Balata. LD 1. Carmichan Jack Jazzamatazz JW. Honest unexaggerated exhibit who ticks the right boxes for his overall correct breed type. Needing to mature a little more in rib on the day. Smart mover. Close call for RBD. 2. Caralean Drum Roll. Another good type Affenpinscher with pleasing bone and substance. A very short but harsh black coat. Slightly larger than 1. Well balanced on the move keeping an excellent topline. OD 1. CH.Downsbank Tattiebogle With Marchog BIS. Wow what a performance this very correct exhibit gave. Moved with such athleticism and soundness showing light strutting front movement, strong rear action and keeping his iron rod topline level at all times. Handles beautifully on the table. Masculine expression. Excellent mouth. Well-ribbed compact firm body. Good tail set and carriage. Harsh black coat. Just a fraction more length of leg needed. Very well done!! 2. CH.Balata Rite Bobby Dazzler. RBD. Half brother to 1 and sharing several of his good qualities passed on by their golden father. Excellent mouth. Light and jaunty mover but a little light in body on the day. Limit dog winner nearly had your RBD award today. Was very close. VD 1. CH.Darkle Devil May Care. BVIS. At last I have had my hands on this golden dog! Sire to so many good type Affenpinschers several of which have their titles. Very correct in all departments from top to toe. Excellent rib. Moved with comic seriousness. Iron rod topline. A pleasure to handle. 2. Tonsarne Brandubh With Riogaioch. Sound moving with excellent front action. Not the shape of 1 but has good bone and correct hindquarter placement. MPB Raw babies where only one would half- heartedly show. Curious to see 3 and 4 again who just didn’t want to know. 1. Tarcalion Fairy Nuff. Nice size with good strutting front action. Monkey like expression and has neat small ears. Needs time. PB Good class. 1. Kilbarchans Exclusive Copy For Carmichan. BPIS. The opposite of the Minor puppies and very mature for her age. Shown in excellent condition. A show fool really! Well put together. Typical in head, body and movement. Sibling to the puppy dogs. An excellent litter bred by a clever breeder. 2. Schon Madchen Of Tonsarne. Smaller in size than 1 with a good body and sound construction. Good dark eye. Needs more turn up to enhance her expression. Unlucky to be against 1. Sound movement. SpJB 1. Carmichan Lucy Lastic With Scapafield. The innocence of her eyes!!! Correct in so many ways but on the day body felt neither baby nor one of the big girls. Good coat and excellent table manners. Another exhibit I will watch closely at future shows. 2. Darkle Arrabella Miller At Balata. Needed two firsts really for this class. Being picky this exhibit stood longer cast against 1 and like 1 moved with typical gait and was sound. JB 1. Kilbarchans Hot Copy. Yep another Kilbarchans. An affix associated with top winners in several breeds of dog over many years. Todays BIS is ex of a Kilbarchans bred bitch! This exhibit is a good all round package. Rear spot on. 2. Tonsarne Idle Gossip. Confident bitch with a lovely head. Dark eye. Good mouth. Preferred the body length and tail of 1. Coat black, harsh and felt clean! Typical front movement. TB 1. Kilbarchans Exclusive Copy For Carmichan. 2. Florindale Comedy Queen. Very feminine monkey like expression. Substantial square body. Very black coat but not the correct texture of 1. Excellent hindquarters. Unlucky to be against 1. Sweet character. PGB 1. Scalene Cinnamon. Real sweetie with pleasing shaped body, sound moving limbs and a very good harsh coat. Needed more oomph in her showing but did enough to win this class. 2. Carmichan Mia Loves To Jazz. Probably one of the smallest exhibits here today. Full of her own self-importance and was having a great time. She showed me how lively she was and was charming to go over on the table. Correct in coat and super hindquarters. LB Quality class. Placings based on preferences and nit picking! 1. Riogaioch Bewitched. RBB. High-class exhibit and sister to BB/RBIS. Perfect expression. Good body with an iron rod topline kept level on the move at all times. Liked her strutting straight front action and her strong rear. Coat very black and very harsh but didn’t seem a lot of it. I envy this exhibitor for two quality Affenpinschers in the same litter. Well done. 2. Darkle Devils In The Detail JW. Not the expression of 1 or such a good coat but the body was very correct and I preferred the tail carriage of this exhibit. She moved very well with animation and was sound. OB Is this the state of the breeds bitches? I hope so as they were just lovely. As with limit bitch, placings were down to preference and nit picking. 1. CH.Riogaioch Illusion JW. BB/RBIS. An all round quality exhibit with stacks of type and personality. Correct in expression and her body felt so good on the table being compact, rib cage well sprung and chest not to deep. Her hindquarters were set well under and moderately angulated. Against the BD for BIS she was unlucky as he went for it giving his handler 110%. A pleasure to handle two quality champion Affenpinschers. Thank you. 2. Tonsarne Tittle Tattle. Exhibits from this kennel were all of sound construction, good coats for colour and texture and for size. This exhibit has a typical expression. Lacking slightly in body against 1. Pleasing rear quarters. Limit bitch winner I felt moved better in the challenge for RBB. VB 1. Suphelli Pure Energy For Scalene. I like this bitch. Can you tell! Has all the qualities which makes this breed quite unique. Needed to be more vibrant against the VD winner who went on to take BVIS. Miss Ellie, you are lovely and will we meet again!? 2. CH.Ingerdorm Peggetty At Carmichan. Smaller than 1 and more boxy in shape. Softer grey coat. Correct in expression. Very good mover with good topline. PROGENY B 1. CH.Riogaioch Festival. I predict a long line in typical bitches from this exhibitor noted for their expressions and turn ups as seen in progeny here. 2. Darkle Duplicity. Progeny showed me strong rear quarters of the correct angulation. Youngsters here still needing to fill into their frames. ANTHONY OAKDEN
