Affenpinscher Club Open Show

12th February 2006

Judge  -  Ros Brakes

Thanks to exhibitors for a lovely entry at this, my first ‘Club’ Show – I enjoyed the day immensely.  There were some delightful puppies to go over and I could have taken one or two of them home with me – I wish them good luck for the future.  If I had a general criticism it would be regarding heads and expressions.  A great deal of the breed’s appeal is to look into a cheeky little monkey face.  Type here is so important and with either a terrier or what could be described as an ‘ape’ look so much type and appeal is lost.

MPD 1. Carmichan Jack Jazzamatazz (NAF) - Promising little fellow of good size, square body with good rib. Outgoing temperament took everything in his stride. Good head with dark cheeky eyes and well set neat ears. Moved out well keeping level topline and good tail carriage. Correct Coat texture BPD 2. Darkle Rapscallion - larger type with some excellent qualities.  Well constructed which showed in his movement.  Dark eyes, which are essential, good head proportions and correct neat ears.  Good spring to rib, level topline, and sturdy little body.  Very good coat for colour and texture.

PD          1.  Carmichan Jack Jazzamatazz (NAF)  2.  Tonsarne Trout Tickler At Tarcalion.  Ideal size and good overall shape – good rib.  Dark eyes and good ear set.  Correct coat texture.  Moved well enough, but was rather unsure of himself.

SpJD 1.  Jarube Sir Lamorack.  Correct for size and shape – sturdy with good rib.  Level topline and well set tail.  Happy outgoing temperament which enables him to show off his movement to advantage.  Correct angulation front and rear.  Overall a well-balanced boy with good coat.  Moved and showed well.  2.  Bobedi Surprisingly Magic At Bolmacs.  Another nice young male although not so sturdy as one.  Nicely balanced throughout – square shape.  Pleasing expression, dark eyes, good upturn, showed well.

JD          1.  Beaudiddley Let’s Get Sirius.  Pleasing youngster – sturdy well-ribbed body.  Very lively personality, outgoing and fearless.  Good head proportions, good dark eye and nice monkey expression – high set neat ears.  Harsh coat – good colour.  Moved correctly with level topline.  2.  Jarube Sir Lamorack

YD         1.  Roxilyn Just So For Rosehayes.  Super headed young man – loved his monkey expression, full of cheek.  Darkest eyes and correct length of muzzle, good prominent chin – high set neat ears.  Good outline – tail carried well on the move – sound limbs with correct angulation.  Happy temperament, showed well.  2.  Harmanisam’s Art Romeo.  Well proportioned – good angulation front and rear – correct typy movement with good outline.  Harsh black coat – good temperament.  Not so appealing in head as 1.

PROGENY D   1.  Ch. Darkle Devil May Care.  Impressive turn out of quality progeny – this Ch sire has made a great contribution to the breed.  2.  Ch Tonsarne I Claudius.  Obviously passing on some excellent points.  3.  Ch Carmichan Jazzy Jet.  I obviously like what this little dog is producing, judging by some of the placings today.  Three worthy champions to be proud of.

PROGENY B   1.  Ch Avantgarde Madam Moonshine.  Alone in her class but still an obvious benefit to the breed.  Has some super progeny out including Top Affen 2005 – well done.
